7 Intriguing Netflix Releases in August: From Legal Drama to Supernatural Thrills

The Lincoln Lawyer (S2- Part 2 | August 3rd)

The film follows a family who moves to a small town in Oklahoma, where they discover their connection to the legacy of the original Ghostbusters and the secret of their grandfather’s past. The film stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd, along with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts reprising their roles from the previous films.

Heart of Stone (August 11th)

One Piece (S1 | August 31st)

One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young man who gains the ability to stretch his body like rubber after eating a mystical fruit. He forms a crew of pirates called the Straw Hat Pirates and sets out to find the legendary treasure One Piece, left behind by the previous Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. Along the way, he encounters various enemies, allies, and mysteries. Netflix is developing a live-action adaptation of One Piece, with Oda serving as an executive producer. The series will consist of ten episodes and will be produced by Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios. The showrunner and writer is Matt Owens, who previously worked on Marvel’s Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ONE PIECE sets sail on August 31st only on Netflix.
