Apex Legends Season 17: Arsenal is reaching its conclusion, and in line with their promise, Respawn developers have finally unveiled the highly anticipated “lore bomb” they had hinted at earlier in the season. This unveiling takes the form of a groundbreaking animated series titled “Kill Code: Part 1,” which introduces a unique experience for Apex Legends players.

In the first episode of Apex Legends Kill Code, the trio visits a bar on Salvo in an attempt to extract information from a bartender named Skudge. However, Skudge proves to be uncooperative due to his strong dislike for Lifeline’s parents, the Ches. Fortunately, Maggie employs her “unique” approach to compel him to divulge the desired information.

The four-minute animated short marks a departure from the usual formats and signifies a significant focus on enhancing the game’s storyline in the upcoming weeks. The second episode of Kill Code is set to be released two weeks after the first, indicating Respawn’s ambitious plans for the series and their commitment to delivering a more cohesive narrative for Apex Legends. In a press release, Respawn disclosed that Kill Code: Part 1 serves as the initial installment of a year-long storytelling journey within the world of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Season 18 release date

As per the in-game battle pass countdown for the current season, Apex Legends Season 18 is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, across various platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. It is worth noting that Tuesday is the usual day for major updates in Apex Legends, and the fact that August 8 falls on a Tuesday further reinforces the likelihood of this release date.

Similar to previous seasons in Apex Legends, Season 18 is expected to introduce a fresh Legend for players to unlock and utilize in their matches. Additionally, players can anticipate the introduction of new weapons, balance adjustments to existing weapons, and alterations to the maps. Currently, the specific class within Apex Legends that the new character will belong to remains unknown.
